Rao's Coffee Roasting Company was created in 1990 to introduce the finest coffee available to the discerning consumer. Our testament, "the only way to know is to taste it" speaks for itself. The quality of our coffee is a result of years of experimentation and we invite you to taste Rao's against any other coffee on the market. We are certain you will taste substantial differences in freshness and quality.

Coffee has progressed dramatically from the mass-marketed low-end quality of the 1960's & 70's to the quality of today's specialty market. Rao's standards are exceedingly high. Our goal is to source the highest quality green coffee beans available from around the world. We then roast to order in small hand-crafted batches with precision and care.

Rao's supplies wholesale accounts throughout Greater Boston, New England and beyond, and has steadily progressed to be one of the most prominent coffee roasters in the country. We specialize in single origin coffees, or varietals. These originate from high altitude, (3,500ft - 6,000ft, temperature 60-75 degrees F) shade grown regions of South & Central America, Africa , Indonesia & Asia.  Each region offers its own distinctive flavor profile. The coffee we purchase is the top 3% of the world's production. The premiums we pay encourage farms to maintain high standards and in return guarantee repeat business from Rao's and roasters with similar principles and goals.
